Dierkes Lake Park

Dierkes Lake Park is a 191-acre recreation area next to Shoshone Falls, featuring a designated swimming area, fishing, picnic lawns, playground equipment, and dramatic canyon scenery. Families can swim during summer, walk the 1.7-mile unpaved trail around the lake, explore by nonmotorized watercraft, or reserve a picnic shelter for a gathering.

💡 Good to Know

A $5 vehicle entrance fee is generally collected from March through September, and a $25 seasonal pass is available. As of September 2026, the temporary gate schedule is 7 a.m.–9 p.m.; vehicles and belongings must be removed before closing. The concession stand and lifeguards are seasonal, and swimming conditions can change. Overnight camping and alcohol are prohibited. Only nonmotorized watercraft are permitted.
