The Trail of the Coeur d’Alenes is a 73-mile paved rail-trail crossing North Idaho from Mullan to Plummer. Its gentle grade makes sections of the trail approachable for family biking, walking, wildlife viewing, picnics, and adaptive recreation.

Good to Know
The trail passes through environmentally remediated former mining areas, so visitors should stay on the paved trail and designated picnic areas. Some 2026 trailhead access near Heyburn State Park is affected by marina construction.
