Boise Basin Museum

Boise Basin Museum tells the story of the Boise Basin gold rush and life in the area during the 1860s through early photographs, artifacts, tools, and mining exhibits. The museum occupies Idaho City’s historic 1867 Pinney Post Office building, which also served as a residence, library, meat market, newspaper office, and post office until 1910.

Good to Know

The museum is open seasonally from 11:00 a.m. to 4:00 p.m. daily between Memorial Day and Labor Day, plus weekends during May and September.
