Blackwell Island Recreation Site in Coeur d’Alene provides easy family access to the Spokane River and Lake Coeur d’Alene along with a short interpretive boardwalk, wetlands, wildlife viewing, picnicking, a native plant garden, and boating access.

Good to Know

Blackwell Island operates seasonally from just before Memorial Day weekend to mid-October and is closed during winter. Current BLM fees are $12 per day or $80 for a season pass. The site is generally open from 5 a.m. to 11 p.m. during the operating season.
