Cauldron Linn

Cauldron Linn, also known as Caldron Linn or Star Falls, is a powerful Snake River waterfall and rapid complex near Murtaugh. The river squeezes through a narrow basalt canyon here, creating one of south-central Idaho’s most dramatic and historically significant natural sights.

Good to Know

This is an undeveloped, off-grid site with no restrooms, trash service, or protective infrastructure. The canyon descent is steep, and spring runoff can make the river extremely dangerous. Stay well above the water, do not swim, and pack out everything you bring.
