Build an Idaho Falls outing around one main activity, then add a stretch of the riverfront if time and weather allow. The River Walk, downtown creative activities, zoo and outlying water recreation offer very different days; they do not need to fit into one itinerary.
Pair a river walk with time to create
The city describes the River Walk as five miles of paths on both sides of the Snake River. Choose a short section and a clear return point when walking with young children. The Japanese Friendship Garden at Sportsman Park is another riverfront stop to consider, with its own entrance and layout; keep children close around water rather than treating the riverfront as a playground.
ARTitorium on Broadway, at 271 West Broadway, gives a downtown day an indoor, hands-on focus. The venue recommends allowing 1.5 to 3 hours. Make the timing work for your family
ARTitorium’s Monday opening is in the late afternoon, so it should not be the assumed indoor option for a Monday morning. Adults accompany children during ordinary visits; registered classes have separate supervision arrangements.
