Explore Ketchum

Use this Ketchum guide to compare outings in the surrounding Wood River and Sawtooth areas, not as a walking tour of downtown. Several listed campgrounds and lake stops are well beyond town. Choose the direction of your day first, then check the exact destination on a map.

North of town: a trail, campsite or summer pool?

Easley Campground sits along the Big Wood River about 14 miles north of Ketchum. The Forest Service describes a small campground with first-come sites. Have an alternative overnight plan rather than treating a listing as a reservation.

Easley Hot Springs is a separate swimming-pool and soaking-tub operation. A campground stay does not establish pool access, and the pool has its own admission and operating season. For a future summer visit, check its supervision rules and hours before making swimming the main activity.

Seasonal note, checked September 8, 2026: Easleyโ€™s official Hours & Pricing page defines the 2026 season as Memorial Day weekend through Labor Day. That published season has ended. Call the operator before an autumn trip rather than relying on summer opening hours still visible elsewhere on the website.

Map the larger mountain outing

The Harriman Trail provides walking and biking options in the corridor near Easley. Choose an access point and turnaround that suit your group; a short section can make a satisfying outing without committing to a long ride.

Alturas Lake belongs to a broader Sawtooth Valley trip, while Deer Creek Trailhead and the Caribou and Chemeketan campground listings have their own approaches. Read the road and destination details individually. Do not assume the nearest town named in a listing is where the activity takes place.

For an overnight visit, check each campgroundโ€™s water, toilet, vehicle and reservation arrangements. For a day trip, choose a designated picnic or trail access area so your plan does not depend on entering an occupied campsite.
