Explore Troy

In Troy, a family walk or bike ride can start close to playground and picnic options, while the reservoir makes a separate outing beyond town. Choose between a paved route, wooded disc golf, or time beside the water before loading the car.

Pair a short trail outing with the city park

The Latah Trail links Troy and Moscow over a 12-mile paved route. You do not need to cover the full distance: start from the Troy end, agree on a turnaround, and leave enough energy for the return. The city describes the route reaching Troy City Park, where playground equipment, courts and picnic space provide alternatives to a longer ride.

For children still building cycling confidence, decide on the length before setting out and share the path considerately with walkers. A park-and-trail visit is different from booking the covered shelter for a group; arrange reserved use through City Hall.

Wooded disc golf or reservoir fishing?

Duthie Park offers a nine-hole disc-golf course among trees off Pine Street. Its hilly terrain makes it a different choice from the paved trail. Bring discs if playing is the purpose of the visit.

Spring Valley Reservoir lies outside Troy and offers shoreline walking and fishing access. Use the reservoir listing for directions and current conditions. If staying overnight, check the Troy RV Park listing separately rather than assuming day-use parks allow camping.
