Bad Bear Campground is a six-site Forest Service campground in a ponderosa pine forest along Mores Creek and the Ponderosa Pine Scenic Byway. Located about 10 miles north of Idaho City at 5,100 feet, it offers stream fishing, picnicking, nearby trails, wildlife viewing, and mountain scenery.

Good to Know
The usual season is mid-May through mid-October. Potable water is currently unavailable, so visitors must bring drinking water. Both reservable and first-come, first-served sites are offered. Single sites are $15 per night and double sites are $30 per night. Highway traffic may be audible, and horses or pack animals are not permitted in the campground.
