Black Rock Campground

Black Rock Campground is a seasonal Boise National Forest campground approximately 20 miles from Idaho City, along the North Fork Boise River. Its 11 single campsites sit beneath ponderosa pines and provide access to fishing, swimming holes, wildlife viewing, and nearby trails.

Good to Know

There is no garbage service, so pack out all trash. Bring backup drinking water because the hand pump may be shut off when water quality cannot be confirmed. Forest Service Road 327 is an 18-mile dirt-road approach that can be rough, washboarded, and potholed. The closest cell service is in Idaho City. Pets must be leashed, and campfires are allowed only in provided rings when restrictions permit. Recreation.gov currently carries a wildfire safety alert for this campground; check the official listing and current Boise National Forest conditions before traveling.
