Built in 1910 and 1911, the two-story brick depot served the Pacific and Idaho Northern Railway. Its three-arch entrance and former passenger spaces connect the building to New Meadows' railroad history. Reach the reservoir on Forest Road 089 from Highway 95 southwest of New Meadows. Dispersed sites differ from a developed campground: check the approach before committing a large RV, bring drinking water and do not expect a toilet at your individual site. Consult current Payette National Forest alerts for closures and restrictions before choosing a spot.
