Good to Know

The trail is nearly 30 miles long, so families may prefer shorter out-and-back sections. Services are limited away from Ashton and Tetonia.

Choosing a starting point

Checked September 8, 2026: the official paving notice still lists closures, but some projected reopening dates have passed. Call 208-652-7520 to confirm your trailhead and route; do not assume the older notice describes today’s access.

This listing describes the Drummond corridor of the longer trail. Use an officially confirmed parking area rather than treating the town name as a trailhead. Plan the return distance, bring drinking water, and decide on a turnaround before children get tired.
