Mores Mountain Nature Trail above Boise is a family-friendly interpretive hike through Douglas fir, aspen, summer wildflowers, and high-elevation mountain scenery. The trail offers expansive views toward the Sawtooth Mountains to the east and Oregon’s Blue Mountains to the west.

Good to Know
The trail begins at the Shafer Butte campground and picnic area. The Forest Service lists the main operating season as mid-June through late September, depending on snow. The final several miles of the approach include gravel road. A $5 per-vehicle day-use fee applies at Shafer Butte.
