Good to Know

Early morning and late evening can offer better wildlife viewing, particularly in summer. Bring binoculars, water, and insect repellent. Public access is generally from half an hour before sunrise until half an hour after sunset. Follow the existing road system and posted regulations; wildlife habitat is not an off-trail play area. Refuge staff may be away doing fieldwork, so pick up a brochure at headquarters and check current access information before visiting.
