Amenities & Features

  • Trailhead parking and vault toilets confirmed by the Forest Service

Good to Know

  • Trail #354 starts at the north end of the parking lot. The Forest Service describes 1.3 miles downhill to Trail #353, then less than a quarter mile south toward the waterfall, with an unsigned junction and unimproved access trail.
  • AllTrails lists a three-mile round trip; Hiking Project lists 3.1 miles. Their elevation estimates differ. Allow energy and time for the uphill return.
  • Hiking guides report loose rocks and steep scrambling near the base of the falls. Viewing the falls and descending to their base are different activities. Keep children back from steep edges and moving water; the scramble should not be treated as suitable for every family.
  • The trailhead is about one mile south of Brundage Mountain Resort. From McCall, the Forest Service directs visitors five miles north on Highway 55, then about three miles north on Goose Lake Road. The parking entrance is on the west side.
  • The map pin identifies the official trailhead coordinates, 44.998334, -116.164787, not the waterfall.
  • Drinking water, accessible facilities and winter toilet availability remain unconfirmed. Check current road, snow, bridge and trail conditions and temporary restrictions before visiting. The New Meadows Ranger District contact number is 208-347-0300.
