Heavens Gate Overlook in the Seven Devils Mountains offers one of Idaho’s most dramatic panoramic views into Hells Canyon. At 8,429 feet, it is the highest viewpoint on the Idaho side of the canyon and also overlooks the rugged Seven Devils peaks.

Good to Know
The overlook is about 19 miles west of Riggins via Forest Road 517. The road is very steep, winding, and gravel, and snow closes or limits access seasonally. Allow substantial travel time, carry water, and check current road conditions before making the trip.
